The answer to this question is yes. Definitely, incorrect use of your computer as well as other equipment related to it, although indirectly, may still damage your health. These equipments may expose you to increased health risks.
Perhaps that is the reason why there is a work place regulation in force that affects everyone working with and using computer and VDUs. This is to protect the health and safety of these people from health risks such as eye strain, fatigue, etc.
Although it had been said that computer use will not directly and seriously damage your eyes or vision there are more computer users blaming computers for fatigue, double or blurred vision, drying and tearing of their eyes, problems in focusing, frequent blinking, squinting, head aches and eye strain. This collection of symptoms that is said to be caused by prolonged use of computers is called Computer Vision Syndrome.
The reason why these symptoms appeared related to computer use is simple. The human brain reacts differently to text found on the computer screen and on printed materials.
Actually, the symptoms are not directly caused by the computer monitor. Such conditions as intense brightness or dimness may cause the symptoms.
Also, the idea that the Ultra violate radiation put out by the computer screen causes the symptoms is not at all true because the radiation of computer screen is minimal.
